Dr. Yared Zenebe
Dr. Yared Zenebe Zewde is one of the best nerve specialists in Ethiopia. Born and brought up in Addis Ababa, he went on to excel in the field of clinical neurology, enhancing Ethiopia’s reputation for effective care in the field. Dr. Zenebe Zewde acquired his degree in medicine from Jimma University in Addis Ababa. He then undertook a specialization in clinical neurology from Addis Ababa University.
Dr. Zenebe’s expanding passion to enhance his skills and knowledge is evident in his subsequent academic achievements. He was a part of the prestigious global Fellows program, the Brain Health program by Atlantic Fellows. It exposed him to interdisciplinary learning related to brain health, dementia, and health equity. With his enhanced knowledge and reputation, Dr. Yared Zenebe founded Alzheimer’s Ethiopia, a membership development program with the vision to reduce risk and improve timely diagnosis and care for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
Over the years, Dr. Zenebe worked in numerous hospitals, both in Ethiopia and abroad, in the capacity of a top neurologist and educator. These include Addis Ababa University, Black Lion Hospital, and UCSF Memory and Aging Center in San Fransisco. Dr. Zenebe Zewde has also authored 56 papers, which highlight his expertise in clinical neurology, neurophysiology, and cerebrovascular disorders.
