Laparoscopic Proximal Jejunal Bypass With Sleeve in Lagos
A new treatment called laparoscopic proximal jejunal bypass with sleeve is being used to treat obesity and type 2 diabetes. The treatment begins with a laparoscopic sleeve gastroplasty. The jejunum (a section of the small intestine) is then separated from the Treitz ligament by 50 cm. The proximal jejunum is bypassed for 200-300cm, and an end-to-side jejunojejunostomy is performed.
