Dr. Cheserem graduated from the University of Southampton in the UK with honors after earning her bachelor’s degree in medicine. She subsequently finished her neurosurgery training at the South London Neurosurgery Rotation.
She has also completed rotations in various University hospitals in the UK and has been a traveling fellow of Bellaria Hospital (Italy), Lariboisiere Hospital (France), and UPMC (USA). Her extensive training has equipped her with the knowledge and expertise needed to handle complex neurosurgical cases.

Dr. Cheserem’s subspecialty interests include pituitary and skull base surgery using both endoscopic and microsurgical methods.
She has made major contributions in the field of neurosurgery, especially in the area of global health, teaching, and clinical research. She has also held various international positions, including Co-Chair of the Education Committee of the Young African Neurosurgeons Forum, International Advisory Board Member for the Women in Neurosurgery Asian Congress, and a member of the World Federation of Neurological Societies Gender and Research Sub-Committee.

Previous Work Experience
Dr. Cheserem worked as a Weill Cornell Global Health Fellow at Tanzania’s Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute before joining AKUHN.
In addition, she worked as a consultant neurosurgeon at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital in the United Kingdom and as a Skullbase Fellow at the University Hospital of Wales.
