Dr Mutaleeb Ayodele Shobode is a renowned orthopaedic surgeon in Nigeria. He has an unrivaled expertise in arthroscopic and spinal surgical procedures. For over 15 years, Dr. Shobode has been treating pediatric and adult patients with complex spinal diseases and trauma. He is especially admired for his tireless work in treating scoliosis (sideways curve of the spine) patients in Nigeria’s Lagos.

Dr. Shobode completed his medical studies at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine. While pursuing his MBBS, he knew what appealed to him and where he wanted to set his mark. So, the decision to do a master’s in Anatomy was natural. He cleared his master’s with a distinction at the University of Lagos and progressed to enhancing his skills further at the University of Edinburgh, UK.

Dr. Shobode acquired massive experience in orthopedics and trauma by working in various positions in Nigeria, Taiwan, and Turkey. Also, he wrote numerous dissertations and publications on trauma management, services, and spinal deformities, which highlight his deep knowledge and insights. To keep himself aligned with the latest practices, Dr. Shobode has dozens of certifications awarded to him by prestigious associations like the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Nigeria Orthopedic Association. Presently, he works at the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Dala and leads the AO Spine West African Council as a chairman.
