Breast Fat Transfer Surgery Cost in Lagos

Where only a minor increase in breast size is needed or in conjunction with an implant to correct imperfections in shape, fat transfer can be used in breast reconstruction surgery or breast augmentation. The operation is usually performed by using low-pressure liposuction to extract fat from one part of the body, which is washed with saline and then inserted into the breasts. This technique often results in a softer, more natural look and feel than a breast implant.

Your doctor will help you understand whether you can achieve the look and feel you want from this choice.

How is a Breast Fat Transfer procedure performed?

Fat is collected from one part of your body, washed and purified, and then carefully re-injected into areas that need to be increased with specially designed needles. It may be necessary to repeat the fat grafting procedure several times in order to achieve the desired result. The fat graft can be explained as a three-stage process: (1) harvesting, (2) purification and transfer, and (3) placement.

Harvesting: You and your surgeon will select a site for fat removal and inject a local anesthetic. Your surgeon will then make a small incision in the area for fat removal and, using a sterile technique, insert a cannula attached to a syringe to extract the fat carefully (liposuction).

Purification and transfer: Once enough fat is obtained from the donor area, your surgeon will process it to prepare the fat cells for transfer to small syringes for injection of fat. Purification may require the use of a centrifuge for spinning the fat or a filtration process to remove impurities prior to injection.

Placement: The area designated to receive the graft will be prepared. Your surgeon will insert a needle or cannula into the incision point at which the site is increased. The injection needle is usually passed in and out of areas that need to be increased multiple times. Each time the needle or cannula is removed, a line of fatty tissue patches is carefully deposited in the natural tissue layers. This process is repeated until the desired correction has been achieved, creating a grid of greased fat. Some surgeons recommend massaging the grafted areas in order to create a satisfactory contour. Others prefer to use the placement technique to create the appropriate contour. The surgeon may also place a dressing or bandage on the grafted area.

What are my options?

Your own fat may be used to alter your body’s contour, revise scars, fill liposuction or cancer depressions, and rejuvenate your hands and face. Common sites for fat extraction include the abdomen and the flanks (love handles), the posterior arms, and hips and thighs. The options that your plastic surgeon will discuss with you are:

Which areas are going to benefit from the fat transfer?

Which areas are best suited for fat removal?

Are there any other procedures appropriate?

Recovery After a Breast Fat Transfer Surgery

After the procedure, the areas of the treated body will be covered with compression clothing and bandages to help minimize swelling and provide support during the healing process. Usually, on the day of the procedure, you will return home with instructions from your doctor.

After returning home, you will wear your support clothing around the clock and take any prescribed pain medication and prevent infection. Your doctor will advise you to take it easy during your initial healing process. While the pain typically subsides in the first week, you may have a few weeks of soreness, bruising, and swelling in areas treated with liposuction. Your doctor will give you advice on when to resume your treatment. normal activity and exercise

How Long Will the Results Last?

The survival of the fat and the longevity of the results depend on the skill of the surgeon, how the fat was harvested and purified, and how and where it was injected. In order to be successful, fat grafting requires a surgeon with highly developed skills, based on experience and knowledge of the technique.
A process called micro fat grafting, although labor-intensive, is the best way to ensure that the highest percentage of grafted fat is taken.
When done successfully, the fat you inject creates a new blood supply from your body and receives the food it needs to survive. When this happens, the results can and are often permanent; however, there may be a percentage of fat that is not taken. which is why touchup procedures are sometimes necessary.

What is the Breast Fat Transfer Surgery success rate in Lagos?

In general, about 70-80 percent of the fat cells transferred can be expected to survive, although this may vary. It is important to follow your surgeon’s postoperative guidelines carefully to ensure the best chance of survival for fat cells.
