Introduction

Approximately 15% of all couples have difficulty achieving a pregnancy. It has been found that female factors are responsible in 30% of cases, male factors account for 30%. A further 30% of cases are due to factors in both partners whilst 10% is due to unexplained factors.

Under normal circumstances, the chance of pregnancy occurring as a result of unprotected intercourse during the fertile time of the cycle is about 25% per month. After 12 months of trying, approximately 80% of couples will have conceived.

Fertility problems affect one in five couples and can cause undue stress and anxiety. Many fertility problems can now be overcome with the advances of medical science. We offer a comprehensive range of fertility investigations, treatments and support.

The Fertility Centre is headed by Dr E. K Hiadzi (FRCOG, FWACS) a consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist and fertility specialist with several years’ experience in the field who works with a team of doctors, nurses and scientists all of whom specialise in various forms of assisted reproduction techniques.

We are at the forefront of the best medical and scientific services currently available within this field. As a centre within the renowned Lister Hospital, we are able to draw upon a wide range of clinical expertise to the benefit of our clients.
