Litholapaxy Surgery in Lagos
Percutaneous Litholapaxy is an ultrasonically guided puncture of the kidney that allows for easy access to the kidney. The puncture tract can be widened even further to accommodate the nephroscope’s entry, allowing for the engagement and retrieval of renal calculi that are unable to drain on their own. Small forceps are used to separate the renal calculi from the puncture shaft. Ultrasonic probes or electro-hydraulic shock waves are often used to remove larger renal calculi.
