Lobectomy in Lagos
A lobectomy is a procedure in which one of the lungs’ lobes is removed. Lobes are sections of the lungs. The right lung is divided into three lobes. The left lung is divided into two lobes. When a condition is discovered in just a portion of a lung, a lobectomy can be performed. The infected lobe is replaced, and the healthy lung tissue will continue to function normally.
It’s normally the primary therapy for patients with lung cancer in the early stages, because the tumour is just in one region of the lung. In that case, a lobectomy could be your only option for a cure and the only therapy you need. When cancer has spread to the entire lung or other areas of the body, however, chemotherapy is no longer effective.
