Lymph Nodes Removal in Lagos
A lymphadenectomy, also called lymph node dissection, is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of one or more lymph nodes or groups of lymph nodes, which are then examined for cancer. It’s critical to determine whether the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. Following the removal of the lymph nodes, a sample of tissue is examined under a microscope for signs of cancer. Some lymph nodes in the tumour area are removed during a regional lymphadenectomy; most or all of the lymph nodes in the tumour area are removed during a radical lymphadenectomy. Dissection of lymph nodes is also known as lymph node dissection.
