Modified Neck Dissection in Lagos
A neck dissection is used to remove cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes in the neck.
The removal of lymph nodes and underlying tissue from the neck for cancer treatment is known as neck dissection. The same lymph node classes are removed as in the radical neck dissection (levels I-V), but one or more of the following three nonlymphatic structures must be preserved: the spinal accessory nerve, the internal jugular vein, and the sternomastoid muscle.
