Optical Internal Urethrotomy Surgery in Lagos
The endoscopy protocol optical internal urethrotomy (OIU) is used to treat and cure ureteral structures. A cystoscope is inserted into the urethra, where the stricture is found and sliced with a cold knife.
A cystoscope is inserted into the urethra to visualise the stricture during optical internal urethrotomy. If the narrowing spot has been established, the narrow path is sliced open using a knife that is attached to the cystoscope. This operation is usually done under local anaesthesia, and the patient tolerates it well. After the surgery, a catheter should be inserted into the urethra for 5 days to enable the sty to recover.
