Total Pancreatectomy in Lagos
A complete pancreatectomy is where the entire pancreas is removed. Your pancreas is found behind your stomach and just behind your small intestine in the back of your abdomen (belly).
Your surgeon will cut your pancreas through surgery. They’ll also have to cut a portion of your liver, your duodenum (the first section of your small intestine), the end of your normal bile duct, your gallbladder, and your spleen due to the location of your pancreas.
Your stomach and the remaining part of your normal bile duct will be connected to your jejunum by your surgeon. Food and bile can flood into the small intestines as a result of this.
