Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) Surgery in Lagos
TGA (transposition of the great arteries) is a form of heart defect that occurs at birth (congenital). The two arteries that bring blood from the heart to the lungs and body aren’t linked properly in this state. They’re in the wrong order (transposed).
The arterial switch procedure is usually done within a few days of the baby’s birth. The aorta is connected to the left ventricle, while the pulmonary artery is connected to the right ventricle, according to surgeons.
