Vaginal Vault Prolapse Surgery in Lagos
Vaginal prolapse occurs when a portion of the vaginal wall expands or sags, allowing it to protrude or slip onto other organs or areas of the body. The muscles and tissues that cover and protect the pelvic floor and vagina become stiff, resulting in this syndrome. It is often caused by prolapse or extension of the uterus’s support systems.
The vaginal vault is repaired by a vaginal or abdominal incision, and the vagina is reattached to the lower abdominal wall, lower spine, or pelvic ligaments. Symptoms such as painful sex, menstrual bleeding, and pelvic discomforts can be managed with this surgery.
