Gastric Plication in Lagos
Gastric plication surgery, also known as faux sleeve surgery, works similarly to gastric sleeve surgery in that it reduces the amount of calories you will consume by having a bigger stomach. This is a novel bariatric surgical technique in which nonabsorbable sutures are used to stitch a portion of the stomach together to minimise its bulk. The stomach’s appearance and volume resembles that seen following a sleeve gastrectomy. Although long-term evidence on this treatment is still lacking, the short-term findings are encouraging. The risk of long-term stomach dilation is a problem that has reduced the prominence of this treatment among surgeons.
