Indian Visa Application details

 

Receipt of applications Working Days – 9.30am to 11.30am

★ Visa Applicants should fill online visa application forms onindianvisaonline.gov.in and submit a print out of filled-in form with two colour photographs (51mmx51mm) and documents as specified below.

 

★ Valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificates and Valid Polio Vaccination certificate are also required to be submitted.

★ The applicant is required to submit photo copies of the personal particulars’ page of the passport and those of the Yellow Fever Vaccination and Polio Vaccination Certificate.

★ The photographs should have light blue background.

★ A gap of seven working days between the date of submission of application and date of travel is recommended to minimize inconvenience in case the grant of visa is delayed for unavoidable reasons.

★ ICWF means Indian Community Welfare Fund.

★ Applications could be submitted on any working day as per timings mentioned above. Please see list of holidays for the year 2017

★ Unless more time in required for genuine and unavoidable reasons, visa will be delivered on the third day from the day application is accepted and visa fee is paid.

 

Important Information regarding Indian Visa

1. Original documents will be returned after verification.

2. Upon acceptance of application at the Assistant High Commission, the applicant will be issued a bank deposit slip containing details of fee to be deposited. The applicant would be required to deposit the fee with the Bank of India located in the ground floor of the same building as the Assistant High Commission. On submission of the counterfoil of the bank deposit slip at the Assistant High Commission’s counter, necessary receipt of the fee deposit will be issued to the applicant.

3. The Assistant High Commission reserves the right to decline any Visa even if visa fee has been paid. Payment of fee does not guarantee issuance of visa

4. Additional documents may be sought and a personal interview may be warranted wherever considered necessary by the Assistant High Commission.

5. Visa fee paid is non-refundable.

6. Validity of Visa is from the date of its issue.

7. If visa applicant is not normally resident in the jurisdiction of this Assistant High Commission i.e. Kwale, TaitaTaveta, Tana River, Mombasa, Kilifi and Lamu , visa processing may take longer. In such cases additional documents may be sought.

8. Each Service is subject to a surcharge of Ksh.200/- towards Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF), in addition to the visa fee.

9. Ordinarily, the applicants will have to visit the Assistant High Commission personally. In exceptional cases, when permitted by the Assistant High Commission, the documents may be deposited or collected on behalf of applicant. The representative of the applicant, however, is required to produce a letter of authority from the applicant. The letter of authority should be signed by the applicant and the authorized person and should contain identification details of the authorized person which shall be verifiable.

10. The date of delivery of the consular / visa service would be indicated in the fee receipt.

BUSINESS VISA

 

Documents required:

 

i) Filled in and signed hard copy of the online business visa;
ii) Two recent color photographs;
iii) Proof of assured financial standing and expertise in the field intended business;
iv) Where necessary an introductory message from the Indian partner;
v) Original and a copy of the Business License issued by the relevant authority to the applicant

 

TRANSIT VISA :

iii) Copy of air ticket;

 

MEDICAL VISA:

CONFERENCE VISA :

 

Documents required:

ii) Two recent colour photographs;
iii) Letter of Invitation from organizers in India;
iv) Clearances from competent authorities in India for holding the conference;

 

STUDENT VISA:

 

Documents required:

 

i) Filled-in and signed hard copy of the online visa application form;
ii) Two recent colour photographs;
iii) Letter of Admission (original + photocopy) from a registered Indian educational institution;
iv) A letter of financial support from the parent/Guardian accompanied by a Bank Guarantee/Certificate;
v) Evidence of transfer of adequate Funds for at least 4 months sustenance in India or travelers cheque;

 

In case of medical/ paramedical education, a ‘No Objection Letter’ from the Ministry of Health, Government of India is also required to be furnished. Maximum of three entries are allowed in a year. Visa holders are required to register with the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO)/Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) within 14 days of arrival in India;

 

EMPLOYMENT VISA :

 

Documents required:

 

i) Filled-in and signed hard copy of the online visa application form;
ii) Two recent colour photographs;
iii) Employment Letter from Indian employer;
iv) Employment Contract (photocopy);
v) Minimum salary: US $ 25,000 per annum (Except for ethnic cooks, language teachers, (other than English language teachers)/translators);

 

ENTRY VISA :

 

Documents required:

 

i) Filled-in and signed hard copy of the online visa application form;
ii) Two recent colour photographs;

 

An Entry Visa may be granted to a person of Indian origin (who is not a holder of PIO/OCI cards) or for a specific purpose not covered under other categories of visas. In case a foreigner intends to stay for more than 180 days on a single visit, he should get himself registered well before the expiry of 180 days.

 

JOURNALIST VISA:

 

Documents required:

 

i) Filled-in and signed hard copy of the online visa application form;
ii) Two recent colour photographs;
iii) Invitation letter from India, if any;
iv) Copy of his accreditation;

 

A Journalist Visa is normally issued in 2 working days, exclusive of the day on which application is made. If the journalist intends to make documentaries in India, six weeks are required to process the application.

 

RESEARCH VISA:

 

Documents required:

 

i) Filled-in and signed hard copy of the online visa application form;
ii) Two recent colour photographs;
iii) Research project draft (copy);
iv) Original letter of admission from a recognized Indian university/institute;
v) Affidavit of financial support;

 

It is a mandatory requirement for all Foreigners arriving on Research Visa to register themselves

 

with the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) within 14 days of arrival in India.

 

PROJECT VISA:

 

Documents required:

 

i) Filled-in and signed hard copy of the online visa application form (separate form available for project visa);
ii) Two recent colour photographs
iii) Letter from Indian company awarding contract to foreign company, specifying details about the foreign company, project (including location, duration), total number of workers (highly skilled/skilled/semi-skilled) required to be sent by foreign company to India;
iv) Letter from Applicant’s Employer (brief description of its projects in India, nature of work in India);
