Diff Hospital Abuja

DIFF is an acronym meaning Divine, Favour and Faith, which are the names of the Triplet of the Medical Director and Director of Administration, Dr. John & Mrs. Mercy Idahosa, conceived after 9 years of marriage.

DIFF Hospital was incorporated under the Corporate Affairs Commission on the 6th of October 2003 and commenced clinical services from Plot 87, Karaye Close, off Ladoke Akintola Boulevard, Garki II, Abuja on the 1st of June 2004 as a 5-bedded hospital with a staff strength of 30 after an incubation period of three and half years.

In response to the increasing need for expansion, on the 26th of February 2006, the hospital relocated to No. 6 Udi Hills Close, Aso Drive, Maitama, Abuja and expanded the scope of our clinical services to accommodate other specialties in the widening field of medicine.

By 2008, our staff strength had increased rapidly from 30 (in 2004) to 183. Today, there are over 200 staff in DIFF Hospital. Our evolution has seen us grow from  5 in-patient rooms to 26 in-patient rooms, 9 consulting rooms, 3 operating theatres and many more facilities.

Our permanent site at Plot 1195, Cadastral Zone B 18, Sector Center D, Gudu District Abuja, when completed will be exquisite, a breath of fresh air and revolutionary in medical service delivery.

DIFF Hospital symbolizes excellence in the provision of qualitative and comprehensive general medical and surgical services, gynaecological specialist practice, paediatric and assisted conception services in Nigeria.

Our corporate objective is borne out of the need to provide a conducive and pleasant atmosphere that will counteract the phobia most people have for hospital.

We are endowed with sophistication in human and material resources, which reflects in the standard of our medical services. We care for all patients with empathy and total devotion to duty and with the fear of God without discrimination. Our services are prompt, courteous, comprehensive, efficient and effective. Our strength partly lies in the use of the state – of – the art technology in a clean, conducive and patient friendly environment using highly skilled and motivated staff who see their employment as a vocation rather than a mere bread basket.

To create an enabling environment that will counteract the phobia people have for hospitals by an effective harnessing of a well-inspited, good attitude and motivated workforce who see their job as a vocation rather that a mere bread basket; using state-of-the-art equipment to render qualitative and excellent medical services comparable to what is obtained in the western world.

 

Adult Inpatient Care

We admit patients irrespective of gender into individual rooms. No two patients share the same room. There is always a registrar per ward to ensure maximum cover at all times. The Chief Registrar is accommodated within the hospital premises to ensure rapid review as necessary.

 

Rapid Medical Response

With the aid of a fully-equipped mobile clinic capable of intensive care, and a core of trained personnel proficient in the skills of Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, we offer instant responses to emergencies that might arise within the Abuja metropolis, and also aid in evacuation of patients between cities, even if moribund.

Immunizations

Prevention is better and cheaper than cure. We immunize children against an array of vaccine-preventable diseases according to the NPI guidelines, and also offer similar service to adults, for example, Hepatitis B Vaccine, Human Papiloma Vaccine, Meningitis vaccine, and a host of others.

 

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Our NICU is well equipped with state of the art neonatal facilities to provide modern neonatal care comparable to global acceptable standards through current innovations in neonatology. We provide care to neonates 25 weeks and above as well as term new-borns within the first 28 days after birth. We also offer counselling to expectant mothers as well.
