Samaritan Surgical Center (SSC)

Surgical Centers are exclusively designed for short-stay surgery. The center is well-equipped for all medical problems, and it provides a wide range of services. Samaritan Surgical Center officially commenced in 2017, and the center is Ethiopia’s first to specialize in surgical specialty services. The Surgical Center incorporates the latest surgery theaters, Surgical wards, diagnostic facilities, ICU, recovery rooms, and renowned surgeons. Samaritan Surgical Center is a collaboration with sister company “American Medical Center” present adjacent to SSC; both centers addresses the medical and surgical needs of the patients. Some surgeries like arthroscopic knee surgeries and arthroscopic total hip replacement have been done by foreigners, but now it is being done at SSC routinely. SSC focuses on providing high-quality surgeries and sustainable and ICU cares to patients in Ethiopia and neighboring countries.

Samaritan Surgical Center has the latest diagnostic capability, such as CT-Scan, C-arm, Laparoscopic tower, Digital X-Ray, 8 VIP beds, 20 surgical ward inpatient beds and 6 ICU beds, and a centralized oxygen supply system. In addition, the emergency room and ICU are set up by U.S. board-certified critical care and emergency medicine specialists. The center utilizes Electronic Medical Record System and provides multi-disciplinary surgical specialty service.

The rooms in which surgical procedures are performed are specially designed rooms for low infection, temperature regulated, HIPPA-air filtered. Adult patients and pediatrics both are treated in SSC. Each piece of equipment is accessible to every patient.
